Grateful!

I think this is the right time to say this...

I Love my current job,
I Love to be in the path fulfilling my dreams.

How am I not grateful for everything I have now? I really have no reasons for that.

Everything goes well and hopefully good things keep coming. I am not prepared for the worst, but I will accept it when it comes, learn from it and won't grieve too much on that.

But, the top priority is still "Doing my Best and Hoping for the Best"

P.S. Busy and have not much thing to write. Piuh~

What is the lesson of life?

When I walked back home this afternoon, I saw people were playing badminton. The first thing come to my mind is my dad. He is used to play badminton, he loves it. But, since he injured his knee and elbow, he stops.

Just thinking, why should sometimes people lose something that they love to do?
To teach us about not hold on to tight?
To teach us about valuing what we have?

I think it is all depend on how we see things. Relative! But, again, sad that we sometimes need to go through that.

P.S. I have already gotten a job offer, in a pretty good company I think. Just need to wait for the working pass to be approved. Hopefully, everything will be just alright.

Oldest Living Culture

I am asked to write an article by an organization where I have my interview with. It can be on any topics that interest me. So I choose 'writing' as a topic. And end up in this article below:

Writing - One of the Oldest Living Cultures!!!

Name one of the oldest living cultures! My answer will be writing. It is general idea that contents of the written symbols from ancient time, which are explored and studied by the archeologists, are the culture. However, if we trace back to the definition of culture, which is simply defined as a way of doing thing, this definition implies the way of people putting their thoughts and beliefs, in words and symbols as a type of 'cultures'. And it evolves overtime.

In ancient time, human wrote in symbols on the walls, rocks, leaves, without any ideas that they were actually carving and leaving their history for their future generation to study, help us understand their culture, what kind of life they were living, and from that we now develop.

Few hundred years back, scientists, poets, religious leaders put their theories in writing, in symbols that are now used by researchers as the fundamental for their new inventions or merely as a subject studied at school. To name a few, there are Sir Isaac Newton with his Universal Law of Gravitation, Charles Robert Darwin with his Theory of Evolution, and William Shakespeare with his poems and plays' script.

In this new era, most of us do not necessarily 'write', we type. It is evolution, because cultures change to fit well to the needs and changes in environment. There are millions of fiction novels published (Julia Roberts with her romance novels, Dan Brown with his thriller fictions, J.K. Rowling with her best-selling Harry Potter series), biography of well-known people written, true story in our society shared by our peers, or it is just journal posted by bloggers. At the end, the idea of writing is still the same, we are putting down our thoughts, carving our history, the way we live, the issues we face, our own simple principles of life, which nobody will ever know what kind of knowledge we have already provided and what use this writing will be for our future generation.

It is wonder what writing can do!

Putting my best effort in composing this short article. Hopefully it is interesting enough and opens up the opportunity for me. =D

Social Science

I was preparing myself for the interview with a social science research company. And during my research regarding social science, I encountered this website of SSRC (Social Science Research Council). It is actually an independent, not-for-profit research organization, based in New York. The focus is to mobilize researchers, policy makers, professionals, activists, and other experts from private and public sectors to develop innovative approach to issues of critical social importance.

I was really surprised for all the researches carried out and news published on how many issues and conflicts are going on in our surrounding. Not that I am not aware of it, but when everything is well-written, it seems clearer and easy to understand what the issues and how the impacts are.

And if you are interested in what's going on in the societies (or just need a little references for your project =P), please do visit SSRC Website. Good reading to spend some time.

Wish~

"Now is Global Crisis, so if you are looking for a job, and have been gone through some interview, but no further feedback given by the company, just don't take it personally" Said the radio presenter.

Such a relief to hear that. Because, lately I start to blame on myself, and I know that I need not that to sink my self-esteem even deeper, after a long long jobless life.

- Everything will just be Okay-

I have a row of interview to attend next week. It is real good to have something to anticipate, giving me hope and keeping the faith. Hopefully, can settle down by the end of this month.

Strange...

Strange neighbourhood I have here. I was about to go out to shop something for dinner. And here the Indian kids, crying, about to broke down the house's door. That little boy is actually my neighbour. He just came back from school and couldn't get into the house, as nobody was opening the door for him.

I helped him to make a phone call, but nobody is picking up. So I thought his mom might be out for something. Then, I asked an aunty which is staying at the same storey with us, thinking to ask her take in the boy before his mom come back. But...

"Aunty, that Indian boy...." I even hadn't finished my sentence, she already said,
"Don't mind him, his mother is inside. Sleeping maybe. Use english and tell him to sit and wait"

I was speechless, "Thank you", and walked away.

And when I am about to tell the boy to wait, "@#$%^&*(!"(someone inside the house was asking something in Tamil) GREAT!!! His mom was really at home, taking nap, and if there were fire burning down her house, she might not even realize it. Poor boy~ Weird mom~ Aunty with excellent guess~

P.S. AND currently, Singapore seems not so 'clean' anymore, huh?! With all people around the world (Indonesian, Chinese, Malaysian) jump down or hang themselves to death. Is this the season for suicide?

Going Global

Everything seems to be going global now. Language, Economic, even weather.

In term of Language, English has been showing how powerful it is in every corner of country in the world. "It is a universal language" some said (although musician might say that music IS Universal Language)

Come to Economic, Recession has been so bad for this past half a year. The ones which are hit the most are financial instuititions AND Fresh Graduates, like me. Bad!!!

Weather, few months back in Indonesia, it was hot like hell. Malaysia is not much different in this case. Come to Singapore, lucky that my room is quite windy, no direct sun, but sometimes I can still feel the heat from the sun that are millions miles away from earth. But the easiest to see that indicates this global warming is definitely the fast changing of the weather. (You are dressed because of the good weather outside, when you are about ready to go, it is raining heavily) We are forced to notice this thing so that we can contribute a little bit action in saving this earth, so that our grand grand grand children has a fine place to live.

P.S. But some people just don't understand, especially this new housemate of mine. Her Air-Con is on 24/7. Best thing is that the rest of the house who never enjoy this facility need to share the same amount of payment when the bill come. Plak!!!!

Astrology

For all Aquarian (Especially the one who post this):

Nothing is more important than getting a handle on your emotions. They've been going up and down and all over the place for a while now, which is fine -- but this unpredictability has got to end soon. This is a phase in your life where you should try to organize your feelings in order to better understand and work through them. Sort through negative feelings and toss out the jealousy or regret that just doesn't matter any more. You are moving on and you need to leave that junk behind.

Pink Dolphin

This afternoon I was browsing through an Indonesian e-news, and attracted to the title of "The first pink dolphin in the world". The first thing that came in my mind is "somebody must be doing research on something, and they dye the dolphin, like what some people do to baby chicken". At the end, it is not that. =P

This dolphin is found in Lousiana, United States. In the news, a Senior biologist of Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society predicts the cause of the different skin color is lack of pigmentation. Cute huh?!
