Mother Earth

Climate Changes, It’s really bad for health. Before it causes the end of the earth (watch 2012, which I hope it will never happen), it first gives a very direct impact to human’s health.

People get sick, as the weather changes in a blink of eyes. You go out in the morning with a greeting from Mr. Sunny, a few hours later, Mr. Cloudy’s face turns dark, and you will start to hear Mr. Thunder shouts.

I feel sad about what happen to our mother earth where we live.

Hahh~ Where I have no control on certain things, it upsets me. Trying to be a bit environmentally friendly, but I can’t do this myself. Each one has a role that they need to play here.

If you think, this is not useful to slow down the global warming, as the mission is too impossible for a no one like us, then… do it for yourself. By doing this, you are actually saving yourself. I am doing this for myself, and I hope it works for greater good.

I always make up a scenario and to do what my logic says it would make sense. E.g. using less tissue paper, less trees are cut down, greener environment, which we know is good. Hope there would be lesser flood, slowdown the progressive erosion happening nowadays, and best of all fresher air for you to breathe in. You might think this is too dramatic, the changes of the weather nowadays are dramatic!!! Anyway, you can always choose your own way, that might motivate you to contribute a little, don't be too ignorant!

We, humans, are selfish, we love ourselves too much, or some people might say they hate theirselves so much instead, whatever it is, the feeling for our own self is just so HIGH. Just take an example, when you see a photograph, there is a bunch of people inside, and you know you are printed somewhere on that picture, Question: who are you searching for at first? For me, my eyes just have the magnet that attracts them to the photograph of myself. Realize it or not, most people do.

If this is so hard for us to save this world, because it such a big mission for us, then start to save yourself, and think of the chain of effect how it will give positive impacts to the earth.

We pay no rent to the mother earth, which has given us grass field as the floor where we can step on, a clear blue sky (sometime might change in term of color) as a universal roof. I believe if she can speak, she will ask only one thing “Take a good care of me”!

Post CNY 2010

Back from CNY Holiday. The one week holiday was extremely short. The flight was delayed and I landed at around 9p.m. Immigration clearance, waiting for baggage, I finally ate my reunion dinner inside my uncle's car, Ayam Penyet 'Bungkus'. Finished my dinner, then boarded the train and headed home.

Was spending time with family (Mom and Dad looks older every year I was back home, but happy that they are healthy and having each other by their side. And my niece is an Angel, our smart little angel), made it for the reunion with high school friends (it's been 6 years now, and everybody has not changed yet. I am grateful to have this group of friends =D), there goes the one week, and back to Singapore.

It had been very busy for the last two weeks. Weekdays was catching up with stuff at works, weekend was catching up with friends. Finally, today have the time to sit down and reflect.

Feeling good as I have been more committed to live healthier life. It's a step that I have taken, long way to go =D Anyway, I am having fun in my cardio sculpt and swimming class!!!

I have extracted my premolar, and soon will have my lower braces on. In a blink of eyes, I will soon finish my treatments. FYI, surprisingly, taking out a tooth is not as painful as I have always imagined. It's the doctor that's good. For that, Thanks, Dr. Ho and the nurse, who also a colleague of mine, Rochelle. =D

Last night was having fun with everybody from the clinic. Food was good (especially the crispy duck) and hope everyone enjoy the night! Congrats, Dr. Leong... For passing your exam.

Today, having lunch at Sushi Tei for my belated birthday and my colleague's earlied birthday. Thanks, Moon for the treat!
The hours left today, I would love to spend it with myself and myself only! =D

Life is Good :) Sometimes, there is bitterness that you need to go through, it's just to let you know how sweet, sometimes life can be. Be thankful that you are alive ^.^

Chinese New year 2010

Chinese New Year is around the corner. The time to be back home :)

Since Young, I have always love Chinese New Year. Before, it's the stack of new clothes that get me all excited, and of course the red packet. Over the time, it's the routine that I love, I get to meet those 'long-time-no-see' cousins again, uncles, aunties, grand uncle, friends. This is the time when those who are in quarrel, to get over it, and also, the time when nobody can get angry, as this is believed will ruin your luck.

Now, I love it even more. For all the reasons.

1. I love CNY, because it gives me a definite reason to be back home. Since 4 years ago (when I studied in Malaysia), this is even more important. The feeling to be home is just good. I am now counting down to Feb 13, I will be home by then.

2. I love CNY, because of the reunion dinner. Eating together has been our routine since we were young, but Eating together during CNY eve, somehow I feel it is more special. Mom's best cookings are served, the table is always full.

When we were young, there are always 4 of us, in the round table. Then, my sister got married 5 years ago, left only 3 of us. This year, i won't be able to make it to our reunion dinner, hope mom and dad have a good time, back in 1980s when they haven't had my sister n I. I will be having dinner with my auntie and uncle. They are part of family =)

3. I love CNY, because people don't get angry. CNY has always brought up good spirit from each individual.

Last time, my sister was so naughty, that she always got scolded. Ah~ I just hate that. However, when CNY comes, Everyone just has to bear with each other, be understanding with each other, be patient, and keep everything in positive manner. Fight sometimes brings family closer, but you just need 1 or 2 peaceful day. That's why I love CNY.

4. For the first reason that I have, I also love CNY for never failed in bringing all my big big family members together. I got to meet the cousins that I have never met for years. Those who are in the same generation as mine, are all grown up. Now, comes the younger generation, nieces and nephews. Also, CNY makes people stop to work, and enjoy a little bit of life, this is when I got the chance to chat and joke with my busy uncle and auntie.

5. I love CNY, because it means my birthday is around the corner. =) The sixth day of CNY is my birthday, and my grandpa's. Every family member of mine will never forget this birthday of mine, because it is my grandpa's birthday as well. Mom always order 2 cakes, one for grandpa and one for me. However, this tradition of cake had stopped since 6 years ago, my grandpa is now no longer with us, physically. He lives in everyone's memory. Anyway, credit should go to my grandpa for making this day even memorable.

6. I love CNY, because of the hong bao tradition. As a kid, it's your source of income. haha.. Anyway, this year might be different case (as I am now a working 'adult', seomhow it will get lesser), BUT I just love this tradition. When the elderly gives you the red packet, it always comes with more than just $$ but wishes. For that, I am grateful.

Chinese New Year is not only about oneself, it is about family, the reason why this celebration is always meaningful to me.

"Xin nian kuai le" =)

A nation that will never satisfy

Every country has their own issues going on from time to time. However, Indonesia seems have this endless issue in changing president. No matter who is elected, there will always people who protest. It has been going on for the past 12 years.

The reason: Not doing a good job.

Good and bad is relative, but this time, some are just being unrealistic.

They complain the current president and vice-president, SBY and Boediono, are not able to prove themselves in the past 3 months.

Wake up!!!!

3 months to bring in changes to a nation with 200 over million population in it? Citizen, like YOU and myself, are also responsible for this. Think! Put yourselve in their shoes. Let's do a role play. Try to change a habit, a principle of life that you believe in, for decades, see how much of changes you can feel for you yourself, in months time.

If you feel this is hard, then what the government feeling is 200 millions time harder than what you feel!

If you feel this is easy for you, Good! Still, you are taking care of your own self, One person. Difference with government? Government needs to take care of you, your family, your neighbor, and your other fellow Indonesians.

We all should admit that Indonesia is definitely getting better for the past five years. Slightly better, and give more time, be one, and we still can be better.
Government is not a magician, who can change things in a blink of eyes, a day, a month, a year. Everything takes time! Just cooperate a little, then be considerate a little, and contribute a little, things will start to change, a little and a little. We might not be able to feel it too much, but in the future, our children, our grand children, our grand grand children, will be able to enjoy a safer, a better country to live in.

Maybe, you are protesting, giving the tension, and hope government can push to the limit, and bring changes in faster way (physcological?). If this is what you are trying to do, I just hope you are right.

I myself also want Indonesia to be a better place, so that one day, I can go back and be together with people I love, and not wondering around, because our own land is lacking where the fact we are in the land of abundance.

I cannot contribute too much now. I can only improve myself, improving an Indonesian citizen. You improve yourself, we are improving two Indonesian citizens, and it goes on. Isn't this good?

I am proud to be an Indonesian!

Never take things for granted!

I hate those who take things for granted.

I recall, a friend sent me an email before, the story is about how we normally say 'sorry' when we bump into strangers, but when we bump into people we know, we love (or love us), we just do not apologize, or even worse we scold them for being in our way.

We are taking things for granted, which we should not!

I believe every living creature always has their own limit, don't think because you yell louder, then you win. Think!!! People who stay around you, supporting you, because they love you. They do not deserve being treated that way. If one keeps on acting like a jerk, then they will one day regret it!

P.S. She should stop screaming to people who care about her. This really stresses me out. }= This makes me miss home even more, people are just more considerate there.

"I Love You"

My niece 'called me'. Mom told me that she just finished put on 'make-up' for my niece. Told her that she looks pretty and casually told her that she hasn't been talking to me for few days. Then my niece said "Call yi ma, I want to tell her"

*all conversation is in Chinese"

Niece : "Yi ma~ mama helped me to tie my hair, Mama bought a new hairband for me" *actually it should be po po (grandma)*
My mom : "Tell yi ma what you wear"
Niece : "Yi ma~ mei mei wears a pretty dress today, wanna see a bride" *they are going to a relative wedding dinner*

Then she kept on updating me on what's happening there.

Then, I heard my mom saying, why don't you sing a song for yi ma. how about 'liang zhi lao shu'?

Me : "Sing for yi ma"
My Sis : "Sing 'you love me'" *it should be 'I love you'*

Then she started to sing (she learns this from Barney show, I guess)

"I love you
You love me
We are a happy family,
with a great big hug
and a kiss from me to you..."

Niece : "wan liao" (meaning finish)

Everybody claps for her, she left and when I talked to my mom, I can hear her talked to her dad:
Niece : "Tonight where are we going to eat?"

Haha... she is so cute...
Can't wait to see her soon. =) Another 3 weeks and I am now having the homesick symptoms already.

Love you, niece~

Interesting...

Below is taken from Straits Times, January 20, 2010. I find it very interesting =D

I bless thee, laptop

A church in London's financial district, the St lawrence Jewry church, is blessing people's laptops and cellphones.

In the first service last monday, the vicar, Reverend David Parrott, asked about 80 parishioners who attended the service to hold up their cellphones in the air. He then recited a prayer for both owner and device.

He told The Sun: "It's the technology that is our daily working tool and it's a technology we should bless"

Hmmm... True, huh? People nowadays couldn't live if their phone or laptop die on them.
